Insidious Scourge Critical Infrastructure at Biological Risk

The report “Insidious Scourge: Critical Infrastructure at Biological Risk” by “The Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense” outlines how vulnerable the current U.S. critical infrastructure is to biological threats. They use input from the issues presented in a special focus meeting in July 2018 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as additional research conducted thereafter to identify the importance of understanding how each of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors has responsibilities when combating potential biological threats. Several examples of biological threats are present in the report, explaining how events like “the 2009-2010 H1N1 influence pandemic” and the “anthrax events of 2001” are case examples to better augment readiness in various sectors.
