This webinar will present the findings of a landmark survey of potential cybercriminals, in which 821 users of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks known as “booters” and “stressers” anonymously replied to 22 multiple-choice questions about their demographic characteristics and motivations for hacking. Unauthorized entry into government, military, and private computer networks poses a significant threat to national security—one that is only increasing in frequency and sophistication. This webinar provides DoD with essential insight into the hacking subculture of DDoS users and providers, informing the government’s efforts to both prevent cybercrime and work collaboratively with “white hat” hackers to advance national defense objectives.
