John Lewis is deputy director of the USACEHR Environmental Health Program and lead for the program’s microbiome initiative. He has worked at USACEHR since 2002 and held a variety of roles there, including research biologist, assistant program director, deputy program director, and executive officer. His early research focused on toxicological studies in alternate species using proteomic and genomic techniques. His current research focuses on the use of a systems toxicology approach to elucidate mechanisms of toxicity to protect soldiers from environmental toxicants. Lewis became a Diplomate of the American Board of
Toxicology in 2014.
