Jason Heikenfeld is a professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Cincinnati. His work involves exploring fundamental understanding of minimally and noninvasive biofluids and their blood correlative value. He is also a leader in biosensor technology development, recently demonstrating aptamer sensors with >1 week operation longevity and the first in-human sensing results for aptamer sensors. Drawing upon past failed entrepreneurial ventures in biosensors, he and his research and commercialization teams have identified a much more powerful approach to enabling defense deployment of wearable health and performance monitoring. Prof. Heikenfeld is also a well-recognized scholar with over 10,000 citations and holds the most patents and licensed patents in the history of the University of Cincinnati.
