Bryan Rivers joined the RDECOM C&B Center in 2010 (M.S., biology, University of North Carolina at Charlotte; B.S., biology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). His notable projects include developing molecular tools to understand the mutation rate and mechanism of adaptive mutations in Yersinia pestis; producing biothreat simulants with chromosomal tags for tracking; managing bioidentification hardware evaluations (BioSensors Testbed); and early assay development and evaluation of hand-held devices. Rivers is experienced in transitioning laboratory workflows to field and mobile environments as well as developing training programs for new technologies.
