Young-Shin Jun is a professor in the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) at Washington University in St. Louis (WUStL). Professor Jun earned her Ph.D. from Harvard University (2005) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California-Berkeley/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2005–2007). She received a U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2011. She was named a Kavli Fellow by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in 2015, and a Frontier of Engineering Fellow by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2016. Her research group interests include solid–water interfacial reactions and nucleation and bio-inspired photothermal membrane materials development.
