Biometrics can provide strong validation of persona under ideal circumstances and conditions. During Covid-19, a domestic mask mandate rendered biometric techniques like facial recognition somewhat challenged. As a result, additional complementary methods are required to support confirmation of identity. In this talk, we will discuss current biometric approaches, the impacts due to the pandemic, and how additional techniques like fusion of other data sets using artificial intelligence and machine learning can provide alternative methods for maintaining high integrity identifications.
