The Homeland Defense and Security Information Analysis Center (HDIAC) received a technical inquiry regarding the security of agricultural technology used within the United States. Many technologies are emerging for widespread use in the agricultural sector. This includes unmanned aerial systems capable of monitoring crops and applying pesticides, remotely controlled and Global Positioning System-enabled farm equipment, animal health diagnostic devices, and weather and soil sensors.
The increasing use of farm technology has created more and more access points for malicious actors.
