Ross Ryskamp, Ph.D., is a research assistant professor with the mechanical and aerospace engineering department at West Virginia University. He is also a member of the Center for Alternative Fuels, Engines, and Emissions at West Virginia University. Ryskamp’s primary research focus is alternative fuels and advanced combustion strategies for internal combustion engines. He has investigated fuel property effects on various advanced combustion strategies, including dual-fuel, diesel-natural gas combustion targeting high thermal efficiencies with minimal oxides of nitrogen and soot emissions. His current research is focused on exploiting advantageous properties of bio-derived fuels to increase fuel efficiency and the operable load range from advanced combustion strategies.
