The theme for this year’s Annual Scientific Meeting is “Aerospace and the Next Generation.” With emerging technology and new entrants into the aviation and space environment, it is now more important than ever to encourage the next generation of young people to consider entering aerospace career fields and serving as aerospace medicine professionals, engineers, pilots, operators, mechanics, and air traffic controllers, to name a few. In addition, AsMA members will need to maintain a full awareness and, in many cases, a working knowledge of the innovations so we can better respond to the needs of the aviation and space communities. The future will require us to think differently as the airspace system changes.
As aerospace medicine is truly multidisciplinary and international – our presentations come from diverse experts who will enhance the world’s knowledge and understanding of the current challenges in aerospace medicine and demonstrate an impact on improving the health, safety, and human performance of those involved in aviation, space, and extreme environments. Our annual scientific meeting presents an opportunity to learn about the work of our colleagues from around the world and share the knowledge and wisdom which we gain in our day-to-day work and professional practice and is a great way to expand the overall community of aerospace medicine.
