As the U.S. refines national strategy, resourcing levels, and global focus to address the contemporary threat environment, the role of special operations has never been more vital.
In response, USSOCOM is relooking, and, in some cases, reimagining its role in multiple operations. Recognizing the critical need for advanced discourse and creative idea generation, Joint Special Operations University​ is pleased to announce its Academic Year 2025 Call for Special Operations Papers.

President, Heroica Technologies

Dr. Pazos has developed state-of-the-art computational electromagnetics (CEM) tools for the past 15 years. As President of Heroica Technologies, he leads the research and development of next-generation photonics and optical devices, leveraging the latest developments in CEM and additive manufacturing. Target applications include miniaturized devices for imaging, sensing, computing, and energy. Dr. Pazos previously served as the CEM lead for SpaceX, and as CEM Engineer for Intel Corporation and Electro Magnetic Applications, Inc., a developer of time-domain software.
