Ranganathan Gopalakrishnan is an associate professor at the University of Memphis, where he teaches a wide range of mechanical engineering courses like fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, particle science and engineering, mechanical measurements, engineering mathematics, and numerical methods in engineering. His research interests include aerosols, plasmas, chemical physics, and powder technology. He received the 2020 Early Career Award from the U.S. Department of Energy for his research on complex plasma thermodynamics and transport. Dr. Gopalakrishnan holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, specializing in aerosol physics.
